OUR city is getting bigger and bigger. At least that is how it looks to me with all the new Cafes and Restaurants continuing to pop up. Can we really be going out so much that all these places are pulling a profit? It brings into question the debate on the price of coffee. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t it more about the quality? I, for one, am just as likely to return a bad $2 coffee, as I would be a $4.60 coffee. That seems to be the range for a standard flat white but nobody ever talks about the price variance of a baby cino. Some places offer them for free, but I found somewhere that sells them for $3.50. You cannot be serious – a small cup of milky foam? From my experience with kids, the marshmallows are the key.

So on to this issue. I am really excited to say that we have collaborated with three
venues and a heap of artists to put on our very first food art exhibition, which we have named ‘Art On The Menu’, and all profits go to charity.

We look at how much coffee affects our lives in today’s society while also questioning the attitudes of some baristas.

A guy in the USA brewed a batch of beer from the yeast in his beard SO we thought we should see how crazy our brewers can get. And what is the difference between bottled and keg beer?
When we go out at the moment our waiter will make a big fuss over the beef. Is it grass fed or grain fed? So what is the difference?

Max takes us to Iceland and also tells us where all our local distilleries are at.
ex-Master Chef contestant Wade Drummond tells us how his journey 2012 has been going and Cathie fills us in on Social Media.

The World Barista Championships were held for the first time in Melbourne at the end of May. It was a fantastic event that saw Peter Licata from Kansas City crowned World Barista Champion for 2013 and Matt Perger from Melbourne taking second place. Maybe it will be held in Perth one day?
