A well-known Australian favourite, The Big Issue guarantees topical articles and stories covering current affairs, the arts, lifestyle, entertainment and news and opinion. More importantly, the publication is wholly dedicated to supporting and creating job opportunities for homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged people. The focus is on helping people to help themselves. Street sales support disadvantaged men who buy copies of the magazine at cost in order that they can sell them to earn a profit. Subscriptions are packed and filled by disadvantaged women in a safe, secure environment, providing them with an income as well as access to training, mentoring and support. Edited by an award-winning journalist, sales of The Big Issue since its inception in 1996 has raised around $19 million to help Australia’s homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged. With your help this can continue.
