I don’t know about you, but…
I never feel more capable of conquering the world than when I walk out of the hair salon. OK, that’s a lie. A night with my girlfriends or a marie claire event and my cup is overflowing. But still, new hair feels good. A shortcut to bulletproof confidence, even if it’s fleeting. Which brings me to Miranda Kerr’s playful new blonde locks, complete with fringe. On our April cover, Miranda is blonde – but before you ask, yes, it’s a wig. But doesn’t hair offer the most glorious transformation? A reminder that reinvention is never as far away as we think.
That is the spirit of this month’s magazine. April is our Hope issue – a celebration of women who expand what feels possible. Miranda leads the charge, and in…
Get the Look
On a February morning in the golden Hollywood Hills, Miranda Kerr decided it was time for a change. Swapping her signature brunette for a sunlit blonde (albeit temporarily – yes, it’s a wig!), the supermodel debuted a fun new look for her marie claire cover shoot. The change felt fitting for Kerr, whose career has been defined by steady evolution: from fresh-faced runway star to one of Australia’s most recognisable exports and the founder of a global beauty brand, KORA Organics. Draped in glittering Michael Hill jewellery and a butter-yellow Stella McCartney dress, Kerr looked every bit the Australian golden girl.…

COOL CHANGE
1 Pair solid red with a sheer neutral, bare skin and stockings for a look that’s texturally interesting and just right for those in-between days.
2 This season’s cherry on top is the bomber jacket. Throw a delicious brown version over tonal pink and blue layers.
3 Embrace the exaggerated-waist trend with a subtle peplum and floaty fabrics. PSA: the platform is back, baby.
4 Another mainstay of the season is the pencil skirt. Shrug off its corporate associations by choosing one in powder blue. Worn with a fluffy upper layer, it works for both the office and the weekend.
5 The bomber jacket also works well to create juxtaposition with a light-as-air mini. A hint of pink adds a little bit of spring to your autumn.
6 Colour blocking…
ONE JACKET FOUR WAYS
The bomber jacket has been through many an evolution. In the 1910s, it was functional and fur-lined, designed to keep pilots warm in World War I. By the 1950s, it was too cool for school, as demonstrated by The Fonz in Happy Days (around the same time, the badass Pink Ladies wore satin iterations in Grease). These days, a leather (or faux-leather) bomber jacket is a unisex wardrobe staple among the fashion set, as we saw on the runway at Saint Laurent. Creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s version played with proportion: wide shoulders sat above a slim pencil skirt. Here are four more ways to style a bomber – in this case, one by Nakedvice (above, $289.95).
THE WEEKEND
A bomber jacket loves layers. With a minimalist tank as your base, throw…
gold TOUCH
RINGS
Make a statement in hammered or textural gold. Sculptural or with engravings or gems, there’s an option for every finger.
NECKLACES
Worn solo or stacked, a dramatic gold necklace is the perfect finishing touch.
EARRINGS
It’s all about the finer details. Matte or polished gold earrings, with or without a stone, add subtle sparkle.…

STYLE Q&A
Harriet Sim
Deputy features editor, marie claire
A vintage lover who spends her weekends thrifting and always spots gold, Harriet knows what to look for in a good ’fit.
How would you describe your style?
“Considered. Every piece has to earn its place in my wardrobe. Five years ago, I started shopping exclusively vintage, which has really helped me to refine what I love and what works for my body.”
Is there one shopping rule you live by?
“I ask myself, ‘Does it add something to my wardrobe, and if I don’t buy it, will I still be thinking about it when I get home?’ Often this requires leaving the store or letting something sit in my cart for a few weeks. If it’s still there weeks later,…
FIND YOUR FIT A SLIP DRESS FOR EVERY BODY
Column
Choose a slip dress that’s not cut on the bias and simply drops from the shoulders. Add a cropped jacket to cinch the waist.
Hourglass
Accentuate those gorgeous curves with a figureskimming slip dress that hugs the waist, and leave your cardie or trench open.
Inverted Triangle
A bias-cut slip dress balances volume for athletic builds that tend to be wider at the top than the waist. Worn under a shirt, it works perfectly for the transeasonal months.
Pear
If you’re smaller on top, a babydoll slip dress is the perfect silhouette for you. With an empire waist that falls into an A-line skirt, it’s both comfortable and flattering. Bring it into 2026 with a bomber jacket, sleek shoes and minimalist accessories.…
Written IN THE STARS
THERE ARE CERTAIN HOUSES that do not simply design jewellery, but dream in precious metal. Since 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels has looked to the heavens, finding an infinite moodboard of moons, planets and diamond-dusted constellations. While others chase trends, VCA has always chased the stars.
It began, as the most enduring love stories do, with a moon. One of the earliest sales recorded in the archives notes a crescent set with sapphires and brilliants in its first year of operation. A year later came a pearl and diamond star brooch – proof that even in its infancy, the maison was already fluent in the language of the sky. By 1929, a pocket watch dial charted the phases of the moon, transforming the simple act of reading the time into…
Glimmers of hope
LONGEVITY REVOLUTION
A girl born in 2026 can expect to live twice as long as one born in 1900, with a woman’s life expectancy in many developed nations doubling from somewhere in her 40s to somewhere in her 80s. Additionally, maternal mortality rates have fallen by nearly 60 per cent since 1985. The upshot of more life is more years to contribute, drive innovation, spark change and make a lasting impact. And what’s more hopeful than that?
LOVE FOR ALL
In the past decade, we’ve waved flags and doused the streets in glitter as same-sex marriage was legalised in Australia, the US, the UK and parts of Europe. In Asia, though, progress has remained slow – making the Marriage Equality Act in Thailand all the more significant. The country joins…
