Ella Ayalon
Congrats on your killer MAXIM feature, Ella. How do you feel?
Thank you, I feel amazing and I’m so grateful to be part of this magazine. As a teen I always looked up to and admired the featured models. It’s a real honour and has honestly been so much fun to now be able to participate in this project.
What did you love most about this photo shoot?
I love that this shoot is simple and raw, yet the results are very iconic. The little red bikini and golden tan is powerful and beautiful – I’m getting a full Baywatch vibe. I also love that we shot on the beach – just being near the ocean and surrounding environment really brought strength, energy and spirituality. Put me in the water…
MARATHON MAN TURNING RIGHT AT THE GARDEN GATE
I had lived in Albert Park [Melbourne, Victoria] for almost three years and ran daily. Yet, I had never come out of my front yard and turned right. Every single time I had left my house, I had turned left at my garden gate. I didn’t even have a reason for it. My street was parallel to the beach, so I did two left turns to get to Beach Road. Instead, I could have done two right turns to get there. That was what Corey did, when at the suggestion of my new coach Gavin, he took me on my first mystery run.
I had no time to further ponder our choice of direction. We were only a few minutes into the run, and my concerns were growing. This felt…
TRAINING
FOR YOUR
LIFE
“When I feel physically strong, I think strong thoughts.” When I was 15, two major things happened to me (and neither of them was boobs, much to my dismay). The first was that my Mum being diagnosed with manic depression (aka Bipolar disorder). The second thing was that I was bullied at school for being too skinny — my nickname was Alexa Anorexia. If only the haters could see me flex now! This is where my fitness journey truly began. I went to the gym on a mission for muscles, only to find that this was but a small portion of the gains I would make. The gym, more specifically the weights room, became my sanctuary. My safe space. The place where I felt most in control. The place where…
PARK LIFE
VICTORIA PARK
By ANDREW CLARKE
Address: Abbot and Lulie streets, Abbotsford VicDate opened: 1879 Capacity: 10,000
The home of the Collingwood Football Club, the biggest sporting club in Australia, carried a fearsome reputation that was in many respects fairly earned. Many a parent was nervous about their kids jumping on a combination of trains to get there. It was a frightening place at its peak, jammed with 33,558 spectators on 13 August 1977 for the top of the table one versus two game. Hawthorn beat Collingwood by a kick, but the Pies stayed on top of the ladder. The vitriol of that day lives on and is part of the legend that is Victoria Park.
It is the sort of place that inspired the Indigenous footballer from St Kilda, Nicky…
Go with the ECOFLOW
At MAXIM, we’ve been fans of EcoFlow for quite some time. The company has earned a reputation for producing quality products, mostly in the portable power station space. Powerful, durable and feature-rich, we’ve been using them for years on our camping trips to do everything from power lights to charging phones, fridges, toasters and more. As well as get through the odd blackout at home. The company’s 2025 line-up builds on this strong foundation, offering more flexibility and improved efficiency for those who want power on the road – be it for camping, worksites or hobbies like drones – or back-up power for homes under threat from natural disasters. Here's three of our favourites.

The entry level power station from EcoFlow is the RIVER series. It comes…
Sassy
SAM
What did you love about this MAXIM photo shoot, Sam?
The energy on set was so much fun – I didn’t want it to end. I feel so incredibly grateful to be featured, it’s mind blowing for me.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, completed my bachelor’s degree in the UK and now call the Gold Coast home. Modelling is a new chapter for me – one I’ve admired from afar but only recently felt ready to step into. This photo shoot was an empowering and unforgettable experience, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. I’m passionate about health, fitness and feeling confident in my own skin. This is just the beginning – I’m ready to take it all…
Bella Vista
Outstanding photo shoot, Bella. What did you love most about it?
Thanks, I think this is my favourite photo shoot that I’ve ever done. Chad [Sabsabi, photographer] always captures me so beautifully and I felt super confident. The location was so beautiful, I love the beaches with city views – I feel like it really sums up the beauty of Australian living.
You’re a Scandinavian-English model who grew up in UK but moved to Australia three years ago. Why did you make this decision?
I had always watched videos and seen pictures of Australia and been fascinated with life over here – the incredible scenery and stunning cities. Once I decided that I wanted to leave the UK and explore another country, Australia was my first choice.
You’ve studied classic…
FOREVER YOUNG
THE BALD TRUTH
Hair loss, no matter your age or background, is the one issue that unites men in shared frustration. By 50, over 70% of men will experience some form of hair loss. Whether it’s slow thinning, sudden shedding or a full-blown retreat of the hairline, it remains one of the biggest hits to male self-esteem. But we’ve come a long way from the days of denial, hats or shaving it all off.
Thanks to two decades of medical breakthroughs, hair loss can now be treated, reversed and, in many cases, fixed for good. From topical solutions like Rogaine to prescription meds and surgical procedures like Follicular Unit Excision (FUE), there’s now an entire playbook available. And leading the charge in Australia is Dr Wayne Young, founder of Young…
THE NEXT STEP
For something so essential, men’s underwear has had a surprisingly dramatic evolution. From ancient protective garments to today’s high-tech, body-hugging designs, underwear has come a long way – not just in style, but in function, comfort and even ethics. What was once a purely practical layer is now a product of innovation, sustainability and self-expression.
The earliest forms of men’s underwear date back thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians wore simple linen loincloths, while Roman soldiers sported subligaculum – short, cloth shorts tied at the waist. These garments served basic functions: protection, modesty and hygiene. During the Middle Ages, men wore braies – loose-fitting linen trousers tied at the waist and often extending to the knees. They weren’t exactly comfortable, but they did the job.
Fast-forward to the 19th and early…
SOUL SURVIVOR
HOW AN ABANDONED CHILD WENT FROM NOTHING TO EVERYTHING
A natural born entertainer Rob had an enviable career and glamorous life rubbing shoulders with the famous and elite. Back in the day he danced for big name acts like Womack & Womack, recruited for Madonna and modelled alongside Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. The talented performer has also travelled the globe living in destinations such as London, Sydney and Milan and he is easily recognised as the main promoter for Australia’s most iconic venues and parties, having hosted events for the world’s biggest stars.
Throughout his life, it would be easy to dismiss Rob as one of the “lucky few” but in reality — luck has had nothing to do with his success. In fact, Rob started out with almost NOTHING. He suffered a tumultuous childhood, abandoned to an…
