Welcome
As a parent myself, I can’t imagine the heartache of being at odds with my child – let alone having it play out in the public eye. However, that’s the predicament David and Victoria Beckham find themselves in as their fallout with son Brooklyn continues (page 14).
As that relationship hangs in the balance, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s friendship is still going strong. On page 28, they reflect on their shared success and how they’ve backed each other over their decades-long careers. On the subject of longevity, the ever-fabulous Dolly Parton has just turned 80 and we celebrate her remarkable life to date on page 36. We also take you behind the scenes of the Golden Globes (page 10).
Meanwhile, if the return to work has already got you…
United Front
After The West Wing star Timothy Busfield’s arrest for child sex abuse charges, actress Melissa Gilbert has come out in support of her husband. “During this period, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family, as they navigate this moment,” a statement read. “Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time.”
Busfield, 68, surrendered to the Albuquerque Police Department on January 13, following a warrant being issued for his arrest. He has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse involving 11-year-old twin boys. He denies the allegations.
“I’m gonna confront these lies, they’re horrible,” he said in a video obtained by TMZ. “They are all lies and…
Mr Not-So-Big?
Years after being cancelled following sexual assault claims, which were “categorically” denied, Sex and the City star Chris Noth has hit headlines again by throwing shade at his former on-screen wife Sarah Jessica Parker.
After the actress, 60, was honoured with the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award on January 6, Noth shared a clip of himself working out in the gym with the caption: “F--k new years – let’s go.”
A follower replied, “You mean f--k SJP and her award, right?” Noth, 71, responded with a simple but stinging: “Right.”
Fans have heard little of Noth since his iconic Mr Big was killed off in the premiere episode of SATC’s spin-off, And Just Like That…, in 2021. Shortly afterwards, sexual assault allegations were made against him by multiple women –…
A True Hero
Almost two years after being credited with saving countless people, Inspector Amy Scott is facing a fight for her own life. The heroic police officer, who faced down the Bondi Westfield stabber, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer.
Scott was awarded the NSW Police Commissioner Valour Medal after she confronted Joel Cauchi during his stabbing rampage at the Westfield shopping centre in Bondi Junction in April 2024.
The first officer to arrive at the scene, she entered the venue alone and shot Cauchi dead when he charged at her, after he had killed six people and injured several more. Scott also tried to administer first aid to the mass murderer in the aftermath.
A fundraiser has been set up by NSW Police Legacy to…
Major Pay Day
Zoe Saldaña has eclipsed Scarlett Johansson as the highest-grossing actor of all time – boasting a collective $25 billion in revenue for films such as Avatar, Avengers: End Game, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Star Trek. As per Screen Rant, the 47-year-old’s move into the top spot followed the release of the latest instalment in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, Fire and Ash, in which she stars alongside Aussie actor Sam Worthington.
Johansson’s previous box office record sat at $24.5 billion.
It’s a huge win for the girls, who trump their Marvel peers Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr and Chris Pratt.…
Mum Group Drama
There were likely a few raised eyebrows in mum groups across Los Angeles when Ashley Tisdale’s experiences within her own “toxic” circle were published on The Cut recently. The aftermath of her viral open letter, titled ‘Breaking Up with My Toxic Mom Group’, has exposed names, encouraged clapbacks and left fans in a flutter.
The High School Musical actress, who is mum to daughters Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 1, wrote how she originally “felt lucky” to be part of the clique, but things took a turn after she was excluded from “group hangs”. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” Tisdale, 40, wrote. “I told myself it was all in my head, and it wasn’t a big deal.…
Loved Up
Shawn Mendes has a new señorita by his side. The 27-year-old Canadian singer was recently spotted looking loved-up with Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, 30, in Los Angeles.
The pair got cosy during a grocery run on January 7, before they were seen holding hands while on a hike a week later.
Mendes and Marquezine first sparked dating rumours back in December, when they were seen spending time together in Rio de Janeiro over New Year’s. Snaps of the two kissing off the coast of Alagoas then found their way onto the internet.
The Grammy nominee has kept his love-life relatively private since his public split from singer Camila Cabello in 2021, although he was briefly linked to Sabrina Carpenter. The rumoured love triangle even supposedly inspired Carpenter’s 2024 hit ‘Taste’.…
‘A Guiding Force’
Stars of the entertainment world have paid tribute to Bob Weir, who former bandmate Trey Anastasio described as “the last actual hippie”, after the Grateful Dead rocker passed away on January 10, aged 78. “Bobby will forever be a guiding force whose unique artistry reshaped American music,” a statement from his family read.
“Thanks for letting me ride alongside you. It sure was a pleasure,” Weir’s frequent collaborator John Mayer shared via Instagram. Andy Cohen, Brandi Carlile and Bob Dylan also honoured the man behind hits like ‘Touch of Grey’ and ‘Casey Jones’.
Weir passed away from lung issues after a battle with cancer and is survived by his wife, Natascha, and their two daughters, Shala and Chloe.…

HOME AGAIN
Macaulay Culkin presented the trophy for Best Screenplay, making a triumphant return to the awards show after 35 years. He walked out to a huge round of applause and quipped, “I know, it’s weird to see me outside the holiday season.”
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards on January 11 brought together the television, film and – for the first time – podcasting industries to celebrate the talent and projects that have stood out from the rest over the past 12 months.
Held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, the night was kicked off by comedian Nikki Glaser, returning as host after the success of her first appearance at last year’s ceremony. Glaser didn’t hold back with her roasts, noting that Leonardo DiCaprio had achieved so much…
Reaching Rock Bottom
Just when it seemed that the Beckham family feud had hit its lowest point, it has been revealed that tensions have deteriorated more spectacularly than anyone even imagined. Having spent the past year estranged from their eldest son, David and Victoria are now being forced to go through lawyers if they wish to connect with him.
Brooklyn’s legal team apparently sent a cease and desist letter to his parents in mid-2025, banning them from making any direct contact with him.
“To be clear, this was a request via lawyers, not a direct legal threat,” a source explained to The Sun. “But, naturally, it is an unprecedented move which shows just how bad things have become.”
The communication instructed that David and Victoria were not to tag their son in any…
