So much is happening in Western Australia that we at Menu can barely keep up.
We decided to do a cider feature this issue and nearly every week a new cider entered the market. We also did a feature of coffee roasters and by the time the feature was finished, a heap of new roasters had popped up.
Everywhere you turn at the moment a new cafe/restaurant opens up and another one shuts its doors. Sake seems to be on the rise too, and if it weren’t for strict licensing laws there would be a heap of Sake Bars.

There have also been plenty of awards in the last 6 months. We have featured both the Gold Plate Awards and Restaurant & Catering awards in this issue, but there was also the Beer Awards and the AHA Awards. Jeremy our beer writer cleaned up in the home brew category at the Beer Awards, while our friends at Billabong won the big one. Swan Brewery also did well but sadly they will stop brewing here in WA early next year.Click here to see all the winners.
The AHA Awards were also on, so check out the winners by clicking hereat

Gluten free foods seem to be in great demand so we decided it was time to write about it. We also feature health and gluten free guru Janella Purcell. Last issue Nic spoke to some our top male athletes about what they eat when they go out, so this time around he’s caught up with some of the State’s best female sport stars.
Having Internet access 24/7 is important to all of us these days. Many cafes are offering Wi-Fi and now local governments are introducing it to their districts, so we took a closer look at how the situation has played out.

We have written a bit about home brews and the beer course on offer at ECU, while local wine guru Harry Ferrante tells us a bit about Wine DNA.
We strive to provide you with the latest trends and news from around the State, but if there is anything you would like us to write about or investigate, make sure you email us at info@menumagazine.com.au
