ITALIAN FASHION DESIGNER ELISABETTA FRANCHI AT HER CHIC HOME IN ITALY’S EXCLUSIVE CORTINA D’AMPEZZO
‘It’s a classic 1940s Ampezzan chalet and as soon as I saw it, I fell in love and bought it immediately’
Couturier Elisabetta Franchi brings the same passion to her homes as she does to her fashion collections and they’re infused with as much imagination. So at her family’s refuge in Italy’s Cortina D’Ampezzo she’s embraced the mountain mood in her own special way, turning a traditional chalet into a melange of warm sensuality and avant-garde style.
The creativity doesn’t stop there. As we see in these pictures, Elisabetta has even come up with fun custom outfits – such as a dirndl skirt with crop top and boots – to fit the scene.
‘I’m a bear lover — Bruno the black bear welcomes you as you enter the house’
All in all, it’s a…
JOINED BY HER GLAMOROUS FAMILY PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO IS A DAZZLING DISCO DIVA AS SHE LEADS THE GLITTERING GUESTS AT THE ANNUAL ROSE BALL
With a sea of spinning disco balls and splashes of hot pink, there was no shortage of Saturday night fever when Monaco’s royals hosted the annual Rose Ball in Monte Carlo.
While previous themes have included Bollywood and the Roaring Twenties, this year, the prestigious Salle des Etoiles was transformed into a glittering, disco-inspired haven, complete with a rose arch and a mirror-clad passageway adorned with glowing TV sets from the 1970s.
Leading the glitz and glamour, Princess Charlene was the belle of the ball. In a silver and rose jumpsuit from Elie Saab – with a cinched-in waist, flared trousers and a plunging neckline – the former Olympic swimmer struck sartorial gold with her Abba-inspired garment.
As well as her outfit, 46-year-old Charlene debuted a bold new hairdo – a chic feathered…

ACTRESS AND ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’ STAR KRISTEN WIIG ON WHY SHE WAS SO MADE UP TO BE THE LEADING LADY OF ‘PALM ROYALE’
‘Sometimes I’ll be shopping or in a restaurant and someone will say: “Do the voice!”’
Her fans have come to know her through her madcap comedy, but in new TV drama Palm Royale, Kristen Wiig changes genre completely to play a glamorous high-society woman in 1960s America.
The 50-year-old actress and comedienne, who first found fame on the comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live (SNL), fully immersed herself in her character and totally relished transforming her look into that of the icy blonde Palm Beach country club social climber Maxine Simmons.
HAIR-RAISING ROLE
“I loved it,” she says. “I think we all loved it. We had such an amazing hair and make-up team and wardrobe people. Every day was an adventure in being transformed and then to see everyone else step out in whatever…
ED WESTWICK AND AMY JACKSON RING IN THEIR ENGAGEMENT JOY
Still on a high after getting engaged in the Swiss Alps in January, Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson celebrated with a dinner party in London restaurant L’Atelier Robuchon, calling it “so special”.
The couple (left) spent the evening surrounded by love from the moment they arrived – Amy hand in hand with her four-year-old son Andreas – to applause from their guests, before the bride-to-be was surprised with a bouquet (above).
Among those sharing their special night were Amy’s mother Marguerita and friends including Daisy Lowe and her property developer fiancé Jordan Saul (together above, with Ed and Amy). “It was so special celebrating your love,” Daisy wrote.
Posting photos on their social media accounts, Amy, 32, and 36-year-old Ed wrote: “Let the Engagement Celebrations Begin,” while in a joint release, the Bollywood…
LILY COLLINS IS A FAIRGROUND ATTRACTION ON A DAY OUT WITH CO-STAR ASHLEY PARK
She has promised fans “more fun, more fashion, and of course, more drama” in the next series of Emily in Paris. And off set, it has been a real rollercoaster ride for Lily Collins and her co-star Ashley Park, too.
Looking less fashion house, more Minnie Mouse, the two women (left) spent a day at Disneyland Paris with Samuel Arnold, who plays Emily’s co-worker Julien, and Ashley’s partner Paul Forman, who also stars as her love interest Nicolas de Leon.
“Sunday fun day at the happiest place on earth,” Lily wrote on social media, together with photos showing the day – and their exhaustion (above).
Lily, 35, has grown closer to Ashley since her co-star was hospitalised for sepsis after a case of tonsillitis in January. Now fully recovered, 32-year-old Ashley said her…
INSPIRATION AWARDS FOR WOMEN DAME JOAN COLLINS LEADS THE GIRL POWER
Always the ultimate role model, Dame Joan Collins played her best-loved part at this year’s Inspiration Awards for Women: herself.
The 90-year-old actress (below right) took to the stage at London’s Landmark Hotel to pick up the Lifetime Achievement prize, telling the star-studded audience she was “extremely honoured and thrilled”.
She added: “Without inspiration, I would never have achieved the lifetime of joy and success I have been lucky enough to have experienced.”
There was certainly no shortage of it on the big night, with musician and TV presenter Myleene Klass, 45, (below left) among those honoured. The night’s Aspirational Woman and Inspirational Mother dedicated her wins to her children – daughters Ava, 16, Hero, 13, and four-year-old son Apollo – saying: “I am aware that there are little eyes watching me: my…
MELANIE BROWN LOUIS VUITTON BAG IS WHAT SHE REALLY, REALLY WANTS
After almost 30 years in the spotlight, Melanie Brown is no mere Wannabe. Her bag, though, is another story…
The Spice Girl was photographed in New York toting her treasured custom-made Louis Vuitton Speedy, which is embellished with the words “Zig A Zig Ah” from the band’s debut single. It joined 48-year-old Mel’s coveted collection of designer bags around five years ago and while the words might be nonsensical to the rest of us, they clearly mean the world to her.
In the Big Apple to promote an updated version of her best-selling 2018 memoir Brutally Honest, Melanie also stuck to another of her signatures, modelling two separate leopard-print coats in a single day.
She was snapped in the first one (right), a short, belted design (paired with Philipp Plein boots), en route…
ROCHELLE AND MARVIN HUMES DOUBLE UP FOR BIRTHDAY FUN
Work commitments have seen her jetting to Miami for a photoshoot, but there was still time to play for Rochelle Humes, as she and her husband Marvin enjoyed a joint birthday party to remember.
The couple, whose big days fall less than a week apart, hosted a celebration at one of their favourite places, Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, joined by guests including Rochelle’s sister Lili Piper.
Uploading a mixture of posed and more candid shots to her Instagram, Rochelle captioned them: “Cos we like to party,” while JLS star Marvin wrote: “What a weekend it was.”
Featuring a chic minidress, a lavish meal, and lots of drinking and dancing, the weekend was the perfect opportunity for mum of three Rochelle to let her hair down, after adding new launches to her My…
QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS PUTS HER SPIDER-SENSE ON DISPLAY
Something’s been bugging fans of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. On a visit to an indoor skate park in The Hague for the launch of a mental-health support tool, Máxima ramped up the interest by wearing a matching pair of spider brooches – and there was nothing incy wincey about them.
She has had the eye-catching crystal-studded pieces – made by Celedonio, a jeweller from her native Argentina – for some time, and was previously spotted wearing them in 2015.
For their latest outing (below), they were pinned to the heather-hued jacket that Máxima, 52, wore to hear about the Checkers tool from the Mind Us Foundation, which teaches adults ways to support young people’s mental health. She is patron of the foundation and takes a keen interest in its work.
