At age 18, Anita Backman was diagnosed with rapid-cycling Bipolar 1 Mood Disorder and severe Anxiety. Her life has been far from a walk in the park. Suffering from episodes of mania, depression, self-harm and psychosis, resulting in electroconvulsive therapy as a form of treatment, Anita has had countless admissions to Mental Health Units.
