Welcome back! In the May/June issue of HorseVibes we’ve mixed it up with a variety of great stories that we’re sure will keep you informed and entertained. Exell by name, excel by nature! Be inspired as Candida Baker digs deep into what gives Boyd Exell, holder of no less than nine consecutive FEI World Cup Driving Championships, that winning edge. Then champion show jumper Vicki Roycroft answers 20 of our most pressing questions, while Tanja Mitton looks at stress and explores strategies to help you create a calmer, more confident take on life. Although Covid-19 has put this year’s show circuit on temporary hold, it’s also given us the perfect opportunity to sharpen our skills. Fine-tune your show ring turnout techniques with a very pretty Training Tips, learn how to feed your pony to happy, healthy, shiny perfection, and join resident columnist Charlie Brister for some ideas guaranteed to add variety and fun to your training schedule. Plus, plan ahead for your next horse riding holiday with some tantalising suggestions from Jane Camens. Amanda Mac introduces you to a gentle giant, and to this issue’s Young Rider who’s busy working her way to the top. And then there’s the new addition in our stableyard: The Equestrian Marketplace - your all-things-equine online store. Yes, times are challenging right now, but together we are stronger. So we invite you to visit the Markeplace, browse the range of quality products and services, and support the businesses that make our equestrian community so very special.
From the publisher
HorseVibes is a proudly independent equine magazine, designed to appeal to a broad section of the equestrian community. We like to think of ourselves as informative, inspirational and aspirational. Each month we publish a wide variety of stories, from opinion pieces, profiles, feature stories, training tips and regular columns, all with the intention of inspiring horse people on their equine journey - whatever it maybe.
At HorseVibes we cover everything from archery to agility, from showing to show jumping, from cowboy dressage to cross-country - if it involves a horse we write about it! We love to encourage people to set themselves a goal so that they can go to the next level in their horse journey, and we understand that for many people that may even be groundwork, or caring for their companion horse. We also offer our Delivering Dreams Scholarship as a way to fulfil one of our key objectives - to inspire all equestrians.
